Hnin WittHmone

Hnin WittHmone Natural Dyed started with two hand weaving machines in 2001. Since that time, we didn’t use the threads that is easy to find in market, instead our hand weaving artisans use the pure cotton threads, hand spun or machine spun cotton threads  that is only available from Myanmar village areas. The founder of Hnin WittHmone learned Natural dyed techniques from the professors of Kanazawa college from Japan. We do colour dyeing with the plants from Myanmar by combining our Burmese traditional ways and Japanese techniques. In order to use in weaving, we use cotton threads, and also threads from lotus, banana, pineapple, bamboos. Especially, we make the hand weaving products in order to provide career opportunities for the women from the villages near Mandalay. Also, we produce simple cotton shawls with small profits by giving the  jobs for the old ladies who had worked as hand weaving artisans. Since we use the organic natural dyeing using the naturals leaves and herbs, the used water during our production, does not give any harms to the environment, so it is totally safe environmental process. Most of Hnin WittHmone products are based on the Burmese traditional design.
